My specialties are in the areas of depression, anxiety, stress and burnout. At Princess Margaret Cancer Center I have worked with individuals facing cancer, trauma, grief, depression, loss of independence, anger, isolation, suicidal thoughts, as well as in cancer survivorship research for many years. My approach is based on Mindfulness, Radical Acceptance, Self Compassion, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems.
Mindfulness is an integral part of my personal and professional practice. I have attended many retreats and classes since 2010 and have received my qualification of mindfulness instructor from the Centre for Mindfulness Studies / University of Toronto. I have been leading mindfulness programs at the University of Toronto, Princess Margaret Cancer Center, Central LHIN, Mindfulness in Public Safety, the Law Union of Ontario and in private practice over the last several years.
Déclaration personnelle:
At times we may feel at a loss with life's demands. As a clinical social worker, I work together with you to help you better make sense of your own experience and to hear yourself in a new and meaningful way. I also offer Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction group programs (MBSR). My specialty areas are depression, anxiety, stress and burnout. I support people in dealing with overwhelming emotions, dealing with uncertainty, overcoming fears, and articulating their wants and needs. "Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us." D. R. My office is at Bloor&Christie / Bloor&Spadina.
I approach my sessions with non-judgment, sensibility and collaboration. I invite you to contact me to discuss your needs and goals in counselling. I offer a free 15 min phone call to help us get a sense of how well we can work together. LGBTQIIA+ BIPOC warmly welcome. Contact: 647 865 8955 | miha.dirlea@hotmail.ca
