Evidence continues to grow for the effectiveness of psychotherapy in the treatment of chronic pain. Using evidence-based psychotherapy which includes a specific therapeutic process, “psychological flexibility,†the treatment focus is on behavioural change rather than symptom reduction. With a mindfulness-based behavioural therapy, you can learn new skills and coping mechanisms to transform your life. Whether you come for individual or group therapy, you can learn to change the way you relate to your pain so that you can experience your life more fully according to what you value.
It is always my professional and ethical duty to provide an empathic and confidential environment, and to join meaningfully with my clients in order to effect beneficial change. I work with my clients to establish client goals collaboratively and to share effective strategies to help them to overcome barriers in order to achieve their goals.
