Personal Statement:
I have 20 years of counselling experience and over 8 years post-masters experience working with individuals, couples, children/teens, families, and groups, as well as with new immigrants to help them in their integration into the new culture. I provide short-term and long-term counselling and critical incident debriefing. I use empathic, client-centred, and positive, strength-based model. I believe that every one may find themselves at some point in their lives in need of some support, guidance, and perhaps some direction. It is hard to imagine that things could be better in your life, but they can! I work with clients on the goals that they want to achieve from an anti-oppressive and culturally competent framework, using modalities such as CBT-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy strategies and other intervention strategies as pertaining to the presenting issues. The goal is to work with you to help you feel, think and therefore be the best that you can be with the potential that is intended for you. I also provide services in French and Arabic, and have offices in Brampton and in Mississauga.
