Personal Statement:
My approach is to provide a safe and collaborative environment so clients feel they can fully embark on their therapeutic journey of healing and growth.
As a Registered Social Worker, I come with over a decade of experience working in community mental health providing psychotherapy and crisis intervention. My work includes helping both adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, conflict in relationships, lack of self-esteem and emotional distress. In my career, I have worked alongside first responders and have a passion for supporting those in a helping profession to explore healthy ways of coping with work related stressors.
My academic background includes a Masters of Social Work from Wayne State University, with a concentration in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I received my Honors in Women’s Studies and Bachelors of Social Work at the University of Windsor. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers.
I employ a blended approach of several therapeutic methods in my practice including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Emotion Focused Therapy.
