Specialized Training:
I’m a registered social worker and highly skilled psychotherapist for over 15 years of clinical experience working with children, youth, and adults who are mainly survivors of sexual abuse/ assault.
Along with providing sexual trauma therapy, I am equally passionate in educating children and their parents/caregivers about child sexual abuse and safety skills. I strongly believe that teaching both kids and their parents about sexual abuse is vital to keeping kids safe from being continued victims of sexual abuse, so that's why I created a fun, very child-friendly, age-appropriate, and interactive workshop called "Child Sexual Abuse Awareness".
Specialized training in: trauma assessments, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), narrative therapy, and strength based therapy
Currently, all services provided will be VIRTUAL due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Personal Statement:
Sexual violence is one of the most heinous & traumatic experiences that often leaves its victims with long lasting emotional & psychological pain and suffering, so this was one of the reasons why I decided to devote my time & energy in helping survivors of sexual violence.
Sexual trauma can also create long lasting emotional and psychological issues ranging from PTSD, relationship problems, trust issues, feelings of shame and guilt, eating disorders, anxiety issues, depression, addiction, self harming, and suicidal thoughts.
I provide a safe, supportive & non-judgemental space to gently explore your areas of struggle, discover new coping skills, and help you process your trauma so you can finally leave your past and pain behind you. You deserve a chance to heal and to be free of any shame or guilt feelings that survivors often carry for a very long time. I truly want every survivor to have an opportunity to heal from their traumatic experiences. It takes a lot of courage for someone to be ready for therapy in hopes for a chance to finally move on and not let the past continue to hold you back anymore. Trying to cope and deal with the impact of being sexually abused/assaulted on your own can seem hopeless, so I’m here to help. Let’s go on your healing journey together.
