Specialized Training:
I completed a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Toronto and specialized in Human Services Management and Leadership. My clinical training is in supervised counselling for depression and anxiety using cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and supportive psychotherapy. I have a level 1 certificate in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy and continue regular peer supervision and training opportunities to enhance my skill sets.
I have extensive training in tenant and landlord laws in Ontario and have worked on the intersection of social work and the law for over 6 years.
Personal Statement:
Over the last several years, I have worked as a clinical and community social worker. My focus has been on working directly with people to increase their well-being.
In the community, my efforts have focused on growing the affordable housing movement in South Etobicoke and working to prevent evictions.
In my clinical practice, I work with clients to increase self-compassion, reduce anxiety, and process emotions and life experiences. I am passionate and motivated to assist individuals in embarking on the journey of tapping into their inner strength and power to lead the life they envision for themselves.
I also offer employment counselling. I work with people 1-on-1 for professional resume services, cover letters, mock interviews, and strategy sessions. My aim is to help clients get into the professions they’ve been dreaming about or help to get a business idea off the ground.
