Specialized Training:
I have undertaken training in EMDR, CBT, DBT as well as Interpersonal Psychotherapy. My many years of working in the Mental Health System has provided me with a wide range of experience and expertise in the areas of traumatic grief, loss, trauma, addictions, depression, self-destructive behaviours as well as, family support, education and interventions.
Personal Statement:
Developing and maintaining good mental health is an important life skill. Difficult transitions, losses, and unforeseen circumstances can undermine our ability to cope and manage effectively. We all are vulnerable throughout at different points in our lives and need to connect with our internal resources to cope. Sometimes it can be a challenge to access our capabilities and shift in a direction that reduces our distress. My approach to work with clients is one of compassion, respect and a strong belief in our ability to find resilience in life's adversities.
