Personal Statement:
The therapeutic setting provides a space to explore thoughts and feelings that may seem hard to share, even with those who are closest. It is a process that helps you understand and tackle problems by increasing awareness. It is a place where you can feel supported in gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and others, opening the way to change.
Psychotherapy contributes significantly to your general sense of well-being and ability to manage life more effectively, positively influencing mental and physical health. Psychotherapy allows for greater awareness and sense of agency which combines to combat the feeling of ‘stuckness’.
Ruth has a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto. She a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Ruth has significant experience working with adolescents and adults in both individual and couples therapy.
