Personal Statement:
Steve McDonald has taught social work at both college & university levels for twenty years. He served in the past with the United Nations in Africa, and as an inner city school social worker in Toronto. He is a past vice president of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. His research interest is in “human rights awareness and its impact.” Steve has over 30 years of experience doing direct practice social work, and is particularly interested in counselling with multi-cultural populations, parent-teen conflict, and marital counselling. He is fluently bilingual English / French, and also has some knowledge of Italian and Spanish. He is a registered Social Worker and also a Certified Teacher. He has been very involved in the training of peacekeepers for the Canadian government, and of human rights activists from around the world. Steve has won many awards for his work and community involvement.
