Personal Statement:
I’m Lorraine, a registered social worker. You are on your own personal healing journey and your journey has brought you to this point on your life path. Our “mind/body” is always trying to heal itself, and as with all living things, it requires the right environment. My approach is designed to provide the healing environment that is needed for the next steps on your journey. Your part in this is crucial to your healing – it involves an attitude of compassion, forgiveness and non-judgment toward yourself. You need to extend the most generous possible interpretations to your words, intentions and actions so this experience can provide the healing you seek.
I have 30 years of experience working in hospital and community settings, primarily in mental health doing 1:1 and group therapy. I was a Clinical Coordinator for many years and have experience in private practice providing EAP for individuals and couples. I use resilience oriented, trauma informed engagement and a solution-focused, strength based approach with clear boundaries to provide the sense of safety and trust that is require for a healing environment. Please note that I am currently only working virtually by Zoom or telephone.
